I think he had a lot of things to draw from to keep the interview interesting (like about answering in your magical spirit animal...) but I think most of it was ad-lib.
I've seen Sherman read and he will go on and on before he reads and he's hilarious and witty and off the cuff. I think the two of them together are just a great match. They should have a show together.
