NaPoWriMo - Poem 1

From this prompt:

I want you to write an origin poem. It can be the origin of a word, person, plant, idea, etc. Have fun with it.

Because the slipper wasn’t...

  1. I really like this! Great prompt. I just read somewhere the error in translation--fur vs. glass. I was thinking it would make a great poem...and so it did!

  2. Nice first poem for NaPoWriMo. The repetition in the stanzas gives it a nice flow.

And now, I must go write my poem.

  3. We've selected this as one of 5 poems to be featured from Napowrimo Day one over at

  4. I really like this poem and the use of mistranslation that jumps the brain into high gear. Your use of the soft "s" at the end of so many lines is very nice.

  5. Hey Kelli, I wrote one to this prompt too, but I like it so much that after I revise it twenty times, I may send it out. I wrote about the origin of Lucifer. I love that online etymology dictionary for poem seeds.

  6. Thanks all!

And thanks Sam, I went to the website. Glad you liked the poem.

    1 done, 29 to go.

Always love to hear from you...and the anonymous option is open for those feeling shy.
