Thankful Thursday-- Time To Write... (and software that helps you do it)

Another writer recently brought this to my attention recently and so I thought I'd share it with you.

It's a $10 software program called Freedom.  What it is?  It kicks you off the internet for blocks of time.  You can request 15 minutes or 6 hours.

I'm currently using a trial version and it's embarrassingly helpful.  I hadn't realized how much I check email during my writing time.  I'm like Pavlov's dog, getting a shot of endorphins every time an email arrives...  Hear the bell, get a treat...

Anyway, if you want to try it for free, you can get 5 time free trial.

Now honestly, I could stand up and turn off the internet or disconnect my wi-fi, but oddly, there was something satisfying of having a program do it for me.  Maybe it feels more official.  But if you're having trouble staying offline when you should be writing, this might be helpful to you.

Also as I reread that post it sounded like an advertisement for them, so I want you to know--

For new readers, or readers in general-- just so you know, my recommendations are my recommendations--they aren't sponsored or paid for and/or I'm not getting any kind of kickback from this company (I actually just learned about them last Thursday from another writer who was talking about how she makes her writing time.)

Anyway, if anyone gives me a product and asks me to write/review it, I will make sure that is clear in my post and I will only review books/products I like.  (I have a pile of books in my office that I won't be reviewing because I only want to promote people and things I love...)

So, if I've ever talking about how much I love something-- Trader Joe's Mini Brie cheeses, the BusyBody Book, Aqua Notes (waterproof paper for the shower), etc. -- please know these are all my favorite things and I'm sharing them because I love them and find them useful, not because I'm being paid in any way.

If I'm ever asked to endorse something--say a new Trek mountain bike or a 2- week vacation to Europe with my family--I will let you know.  (If anyone has any of these things to offer, I would be honored to review them...) ;-)
