Well, at least *something* from the conference was covered- not real poets, but at least the cardboard ones are getting some press. ;-) Thanks for your note.

O-- I am so looking forward to what you have to say.

all best,
KelKelli Russell Agodon - Book of Kellshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01798460634708905783noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37627577.post-7138428519064530972011-02-09T14:21:56.984-08:002011-02-09T14:21:56.984-08:00I was there and I have much to say, but I'm st...I was there and I have much to say, but I'm still formulating my response.Oliver de la Pazhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14708989542004589056noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37627577.post-67707980016183357512011-02-09T10:27:10.279-08:002011-02-09T10:27:10.279-08:00One of the very few things the Washington Post bot...One of the very few things the Washington Post bothered to cover: the theft of "Busboy Langston", the cardboard cutout of Langston Hughes at the 14th Street location. (Busboys is named for Hughes.) The Post's gossips are having a field day with it. This morning, we learned that it was a poet who stole the cutout because he doesn't like that Busboys & Poets pays only $50 to poets who read there but "profits" substantially from appearances. Apparently, the cutout has been secreted somewhere. Busboys' owner was given a bit of space in the column this morning to have his say and vows simply to buy another.

If I recall, a poets' march also got a picture in the Post.Maureenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13290283101378474845noreply@blogger.com
