New Look...

So I've been trying to come up with a new look for Book of Kells. I found this lady who I liked because she reminded me of Anne Sexton. Though she is giant and I'm still working on that.

I know change is hard, but I'd be interested in knowing if I changed anything on this blog, what would you like to see? And what do you think about the faux-Anne?

I'm open to banner suggestions. I am a basic blogger who tries to do her best with limited knowledge and resources, but I am open to learning more.

I'd love any comments or ideas for this blog and of course, topic ideas are always welcome...

  1. As a relatively new reader, I don't have many suggestions--I enjoy your blog very much! The one thing I would note, though, is that when I get to the blog, the first thing I see is the "post" about the reading series. Because it's always on top, I came by a few times and thought you hadn't written any new content, so I clicked away from the blog... But in any case I like the Ann Sexton-esque woman!

  2. The image does blend in really well. I like it. But it is way too big, though. Generally, the header should not take more than one third of the main screen, I think. And I think it's a great idea to personalize it more, although I would still find it fascinating no matter how it looked.

  3. WB- I moved the Crab Creek Reading to a post since it's tonight. I can see how it would seem there weren't any new posts if you weren't on Follow.

    Thanks!

Michael-- I knew you'd appreciate anything Anne inspired. ;-)

Lori-- I agree on the size! I will continue to work on something...
My goal this year is to learn a little more about graphic design and how to improve my blog-- both on looks and content. We'll see how it goes.

    Appreciate all your comments!

  4. i think you have a nice solid looking blog :) i love the new header. i've been debating starting an actual website instead of just the blog but it is daunting given my lack of programming skills!
